First Impressions: Falcon Pre-Con in Marvel Champions

With Falcon’s recent release for Marvel Champions, I was excited to get him to the table and see what he could do. I played the pre-constructed deck right out of the box. This is something I always try for the first few games with any new hero. Honestly, it was fine, but it left me with some mixed feelings.
Falcon himself has some cool mechanics, and his signature cards fit the theme really well. The main thing that stood out to me, though, was how the pre-con deck seemed to be pulled in too many directions at once. The result is a deck that does a lot of things decently, but never really excels at any one thing right out of the gate. It's also trying to do two or three different things with its aspect cards.
That kind of scattershot approach can hurt the first impression of a new hero. If you only ever play Falcon as he comes in the box, you might walk away thinking he is just okay. That is a shame, because I think there is some real potential under the hood.
After a few plays, it became clear to me that Falcon needs some focused deck building to really shine. I could see him working well with more streamlined strategies, maybe leaning harder into his aerial trait, or building around events that boost his stats. He feels like a hero who wants a tighter, more synergistic deck, rather than trying to cover every base at once.
So if you are on the fence after your first few games with Falcon, do not write him off yet. There is definitely something there for players who like to experiment and tweak their decks. I am looking forward to trying out different builds and seeing just how far Falcon can go with the right support.
If you have had a chance to play Falcon, I would love to hear your thoughts, especially if you found a deck build that really works for him!
