Why I Started Live Streaming My YouTube Videos (And Why It's Working)

For years, I've been making YouTube videos and live streaming, but I always kept them mostly separate. I'd stream around three times a week, then spend more time later recording and editing videos in chunks. But about a week ago, I tried something different. I decided to live stream the same content I’d normally record for videos.
And honestly, it's been a game changer for me.
By live streaming my video content, I’ve found a way to batch record more efficiently. I’m no longer filming in isolation and editing later in silence. Now, I stream the content live, knock out a bunch at once, and then go back and edit afterward. It’s helped me streamline the process and freed up a lot of time.
The best part? The instant feedback.
People watching the stream ask questions, give suggestions, and share their thoughts in real time. It’s like having a live focus group every time I hit "go live." That interaction has made the content better and more fun to make.
It’s also helped with my work and life balance. I still have a full-time job, so anything that saves time and gets more content out is a win. Yes, the final videos may not be as polished as some creators' content, but mine never tried to be super high-end anyway. What matters more to me is that it's consistent, helpful and engaging.
There is more editing overall since I’m trimming things down from a stream, but that feels like a fair trade. Plus, live streaming with a bit more structure has made the whole process feel smoother. My streams have more focus and energy, and I’m still having fun doing it.
If you’re a creator juggling a lot and looking for a new workflow, I highly recommend trying this. It might not be perfect, but it just might work better than you expect.
Also I hope for the viewers it has been good. I know the live streaming community likes it but it's one that I hope the "regular" YouTube audience does as well. So far it seems like you all do?
